In this blog post we’ll talk abaout certain strategies and reasons why you should always be hiring as a start-up.
Hiring remains one of the most important factors that determine the success and growth of any business, specifically in case of a start-up. From the various studies done on the reasons why start-ups fail, being unable to have the right team in place consistently comes out as one of the top 5 reasons why start-ups fail. For high aspirational and cash-strapped companies, often, having the right team in place can be the difference between their success and failure.
As business owners, our focus remains on hiring people with an enterprising mindset, who are ready to take the lead and get things done. We strongly believe that people with such a mindset would also help us in moulding the cultural fabric of our organization.
As Reid Hoffman, co-founder and executive chairman of LinkedIn believes, “No matter how brilliant your mind or strategy, if you’re playing a solo game, you’ll always lose out to a team.” Moreover, we could not agree more to this. Our objective of hiring at alible is not just to fill a job position, but to build a brand that is driven by its team.
At alible, we strongly believe in building a team of enterprising members that will add fuel to achieving our vision of imbibing a culture of consuming wholesome nutrition. We prioritise attitude over skill as we believe that any person with the right intent can be trained to develop a skill. For us, it is all about growing together to make an impact on the way people approach nutrition.
Here are some reasons why we would always be hiring
- Timing of hiring is important: To attract and get the right and willing talent, we need to always have our doors open. We are willing to create an opportunity in case we can get a culturally appropriate match. We believe that the timing of vacancy and the right talent looking for an opportunity might not always match, and we do not want to miss out on any opportunity of hiring people who believe that they can make an impact on our organization's growth and success.
- Building a talent pipeline: The way all businesses focus on always maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, to ensure that the sales numbers do not drop, it’s equally important to have a healthy talent pipeline so that you do not have to spend too much time and resources in hiring when needed.
- Attitude > Skill: We are looking for people with the intent to learn, grow and make a difference in society. We believe that anyone with the right attitude and intent can be taught the required skill and hence our primary focus while hiring remains on the attitude of the person over the skills.
- Building a strong team: The initial 15-20 members of any organization play an integral role in the survival or shutdown of the business. We do not want to lose any opportunity of hiring the most appropriate talent that would help us build a strong foundation team.
Having said everything, we are here to building an organization with a purpose bigger than just profit-making. And if you believe in changing the way people eat and add fuel to the movement we are creating, we will create a role for you.
